Our background and motivation
Three decades in which we, Albert and Jennifer Vahlhaus, have lived on different continents and traveled across our beautiful planet, inspired us to open the Finca La Calma. "Your home away from home" for groups, be it friends, families, cyclists, hikers and / or wine lovers. What matters is that the group has a common ground and that we can help to make their stay in Mallorca second to none.
Our culinary expertise and professionalism
Both Jennifer and Albert earned the advanced WSET Qualification, Level 3 of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust from Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte, NC, USA. In addition, Jennifer is a certified sommelier at the ESHOB (Escola Superior d'Hosteleria de Barcelona) and the UIW (Independent International Wine Academy) in Munich. Over the past 25 years, the two have acquired extensive wine knowledge and, on request, enjoy local wine and delicacies gladly with their guests.
Our Credo
We want to leave a valuable footprint in our habitat of choice by offering a sustainable and serendipitous hospitality concept to visitors that is centered in Mallorca’s natural, cultural and culinary heritage. By doing so, we strive to have & share fun, attain & share economic prosperity, and create an enriching home for our family, friends and visitors.
Our Vision
To position Finca La Calma as a recognized and respected vacation housing reference for diverse travel groups (i.e., families, friends, cyclists, hikers, excursionists and/or wine and food fanatics, etc.) in central Mallorca.
